Role Summary
The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that drive revenue growth and strategic partnerships. The role requires a results-driven professional with strong market intelligence, negotiation skills, and the ability to convert leads into sustainable income streams for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a business development strategy aligned with the organization’s growth objectives.
• Identify, prospect, and engage new clients, partners, and revenue opportunities.
• Lead proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and new service opportunities.
• Prepare business cases, pricing models, and revenue forecasts.
• Track and report on pipeline performance, conversion rates, and revenue generated.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding and delivery for new clients.
• Represent the organization at industry events, meetings, and networking forums.
• Achieve and exceed agreed revenue and partnership targets.
Performance & Compensation Structure
• The first two (2) months will serve as a probation and business development activation period, during which the Business Development Manager is expected to actively build a sales pipeline and close initial deals.
• After the first two months, continued employment and salary structure will be directly tied to business performance and revenue generated.
• The role requires demonstrable, measurable business impact; remuneration progression will be determined by the candidate’s ability to consistently bring profitable business to the table.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships.
• Proven track record of closing high-value deals and generating revenue.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
