SUMMARY:

Our client is a reputable specialist in the maintenance and servicing of electrical forklifts, providing reliable and efficient material handling solutions to clients across multiple industries.

Role Purpose:

To perform maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on forklifts (with a strong focus on electrical units), ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for clients across various sites.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:
• Trade Tested Artisan (one of the following):
• Mechanical Fitter
• Diesel Mechanic
• Millwright
• Auto Electrician
• Valid Code B driver’s license (essential)
• Must be South African
• Own reliable transport (essential)
• Must reside in the East Rand
• Willing and able to travel extensively to client sites in Gauteng and surrounding areas
Experience & Exposure:
• Entry-level candidates welcome (post-trade experience advantageous)
• Experience working on any of the following will be considered:
• Forklifts (advantageous, especially electric forklifts)
• Yellow / mining equipment
• Lifting equipment / material handling equipment
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and fault-finding (highly advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Perform breakdown repairs on-site and in the workshop
• Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Complete job cards, service reports, and documentation accurately
• Provide technical support and feedback to clients
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

• Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment
• Good communication and customer service skills
• High level of reliability and accountability
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments

Working Conditions:
• Field-based role with frequent travel
• Exposure to industrial, warehouse, and mining environments
• Occasional overtime and standby may be required
