Responsibilities
Job Overview: Prepares test samples of materials used in production, components, etc. and conducts physical and/or chemical tests to ensure conformity to established specifications. Normally reports to Laboratory Supervisor.
• Documented and managed quality processes and information
• Sample and perform routine tests on raw wheat, in-process samples and finished/packed flour
• Assist in preparations for internal and external audits and closing findings timeously
• Follow good manufacturing practices and Good Laboratory Practices
• Make sure every analysis result is within the product specification, record test results, prepare detailed reports, charts and graphs for management and production teams
• Compile the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every product batch packed
• Operate, calibrate, clean and maintain lab instruments ensure proper functioning
• Do the baking tests on a daily basis to check the quality of the flour
• Assist in resolving customer complaints
• Resolve variations and deviations
• Monitor product quality, troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions with mill and production staff
• Follow food safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP) for all the equipment in the Lab
• Receive, log, store and track samples from various stages of the milling process
• Conduct end of shelf-life testing of the products
• Conduct microbiology testing and environment monitoring
• Monitoring milling, production areas and ensuring sanitation protocols are followed
• Monitor pest control programme
• Assist with line monitoring and site internal inspections
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in the Laboratory within a food manufacturing environment
• National Diploma in Food Technology/Biotechnology or equivalent
