Key Responsibilities
• Conduct routine testing of raw water, RO permeate, and finished drinking water
• Monitor parameters such as pH, TDS, turbidity, conductivity, hardness, alkalinity, residual chlorine
• Perform microbiological tests to ensure water safety
• Inspect finished products for quality, taste, odour, clarity, and packaging integrity
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment such as pH meters, TDS meters, spectrophotometers, incubators
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and samples
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the laboratory
• Collect water samples from various stages of the process
• Perform testing as per standard methods and SOPs
• Record and analyse results accurately
• Ensure compliance with WHO, SON, NAFDAC, and internal quality standards
• Maintain laboratory records, logs, and reports
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports
• Support internal and external audits
• Inform operations team of any quality deviations
• Recommend corrective actions
• Monitor effectiveness of corrective measures.
Functional Skills:
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry and microbiological analysis
• Familiarity with RO water treatment processes
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and standards
• Ability to operate laboratory instruments and equipment
• Data recording, analysis, and reporting
• Understanding of quality systems and regulatory standards WHO, SON, NAFDAC
• Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.

Requirements
Qualification:
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• Certification in laboratory testing or quality control is an added advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in water testing, beverage, or quality control laboratory
• Experience in RO drinking water, bottled water, food / beverage industry or microbiological testing is preferred.
Certifications:
• Any certifications in the field or related field.
Selection Criteria:
• Should possess hands-on experience in water testing and laboratory analysis in a drinking water or beverage plant
• Should have proven experience in performing physicochemical and microbiological tests on water samples
• Should have strong working knowledge of water quality parameters, testing methods, and regulatory standards WHO, SON, NAFDAC
• Should have practical exposure to operating and calibrating laboratory equipment such as pH meters, TDS meters, and spectrophotometers
• Should possess hands-on experience in sample collection, analysis, and documentation
• Should have proven experience in maintaining laboratory records, reports, and audit documentation
• Should have strong working knowledge of laboratory safety practices and chemical handling
• Should have practical exposure to quality control systems and compliance requirements
• Should possess hands-on experience in identifying quality deviations and supporting corrective actions
• Should have proven experience in maintaining hygiene and quality standards in a food or water laboratory
• Should demonstrate strong analytical skills, accuracy in data recording, and integrity in reporting.
