Introduction

New vacancy for a Procurement Manager within the electrical and renewable energy sector.

Duties & Responsibilities

Procurement Process & Policies

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

• Identify cost-effective sourcing strategies and suppliers for solar equipment, materials, and services.

• Evaluate market trends and industry developments to make informed procurement decisions.

• Develop effective purchase order policies, systems and record keeping.

Vendor Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure advantageous agreements.

• Monitor vendor performance, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost standards are met.

Operational Requirements

• Develop relationships with other departments for effective needs assessment

• Streamline the procurement process to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and ensure timeously delivery of equipment

• Implement best practices in supply chain management to optimize costs, ensure all equipment arrive on site timeously, and improve overall operations.

• Work with Engineering and Execution departments to affectively plan and deliver on full BOQ to all projects.

• Ensure warehouse stock are tracked, and accurate levels are maintained.

• Identify critical materials required to support company strategies in key areas

Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with project teams to address any quality issues promptly and effectively,

• Follow through on returns process to ensure timeously RMU units are replaced.

• Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, developing contingency plans when necessary.

• Effective budgeting, cost tracking and reporting to determine accurate margins are maintained.

Desired Experience & Qualification

- 5 years experience in a technical buyer capacity
