Technical Assistance Services in Aquaculture in Tanzania

Norges Vel is seeking Technical Assistance Services in Aquaculture (TASA) from May 2026 to December 2028. The assignment requires an experienced tilapia expert with strong hands‑on and theoretical competence in pond‑based aquaculture and related business development. The objective of the assignment is to support the establishment of semi‑intensive, commercial tilapia production - from production to sales - by enabling small‑scale farmers to transition from subsistence fish farming to the commercially oriented production model promoted by the project.

The TASA provider shall provide technical advice, operational support and quality assurance related to production and associated business aspects of the project, through:

· One expert part-time off-site with more than 10 years tilapia hands-on experience in pond site
selection and validation, pond establishments and business planning and management and with hands-on production experience.

o Work to be carried out from outside of Tanzania but expecting 1-2 annual travels to the project site in addition to weekly and monthly work (ref. ToR as attached for more details).

o Responsible for engaging other external experts if relevant to comply with the work specified in the Tender documents and to be agreed by Norges Vel before engagement.
