Introduction:

Komatsu is seeking an experienced Artisan Assistant to join their dynamic team at eMalahleni. The preferred candidate should have at least 6 months' experience in a general workshop/technical environment and a Matric Certificate with technical subjects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job responsibilities:
• Machine/component assembly and disassembly.
• Component/ machine cleaning.
• Basic maintenance and housekeeping.
• Drives Komatsu service vehicle.
• Komatsu machine operation.
• Required to work overtime and standby from time to time and must be prepared to travel when needed.
• Assist the artisan in all aspects.
• Must be safely orientated as machine movement and component movements are present.
• Must have some knowledge on basic tools and the purpose of tools used.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A Team player, ability to work well within a team environment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification requirements:
• Grade 12 with technical subjects, or Technical N3

Experience:
• 6 months general workshop, technical environment experience
• Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.

Knowledge requirements:
• Valid drivers' license. (essential)
• Other certifications are an advantage (forklift, crane, welding) but not required.
• Have a passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery.
• SHE – basic knowledge of the Health and Safety act.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, good communication and inter-personal skills.
