Job Description

About the Role

R8te Content Creators Awards is launching across Africa and we need the right people on the ground to make it happen. As a Country Representative, your single most important mission is nominee recruitment — identifying and onboarding the top and emerging content creators in your market so that the awards are competitive, credible, and exciting from day one. This role is built for someone already embedded in the local entertainment industry who knows exactly who the creators are, where to find them, and how to get them on board.
This is a performance-based role structured in three phases. Progression through each phase is based entirely on results.

Key Responsibilities

• Nominee Recruitment (Primary Focus): Proactively identify, contact, and onboard top and emerging content creators across all award categories in your country. This is the core of your role and the main reason we are hiring.

• Creator Outreach: Personally reach out to musicians, comedians, content creators, influencers, and talent managers to explain the awards, the prizes on offer, and the value of participating.

• Community Activation: Once nominees are onboarded, support local fan engagement by encouraging communities to vote for their favourite creators on the platform.

• Market Intelligence: Keep the core team updated on which creators are trending in your market, emerging talent worth recruiting, and any local cultural nuances that should shape our category or nominee decisions.

Compensation Structure
This role operates on a three-phase progression. There is no fixed salary from day one — advancement is earned through results.

• Phase 1 — Trial (2 to 3 weeks) | $30 Communications Facilitation

You will receive a $30 upfront facilitation allowance to cover airtime, data, and transport during the trial period. Your target is to onboard a minimum of 10 approved nominees, of which at least 3 must be well-known or popular creators in your market. Hitting this target moves you to Phase 2. Not hitting it ends the engagement.

• Phase 2 — Retainer (30 days) | $150 paid at end of month

Upon passing Phase 1, you enter a one-month retainer period. Your target during this month is to onboard an additional 15 approved nominees (bringing your total to 25), of which at least 10 must be well-known or popular creators. The $150 retainer is paid in full at the end of the month upon hitting this target. Hitting it moves you to Phase 3.

• Phase 3 — Monthly Salary | $400 per month

Upon passing Phase 2, you join on a fixed monthly salary of $400. Your responsibilities expand to include ongoing nominee recruitment, community activation, and serving as the local market liaison for R8te in your country.
Requirements

• Currently based in the target country (Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania) with hands-on experience in the local entertainment or creator industry.

• Strong existing network of content creators, talent managers, influencers, and entertainment professionals — you should already know who the top creators are and have a direct way to reach them.

• Background in talent management, artist relations, entertainment PR, or influencer marketing.

• A hustler's mindset — this is a proactive outreach role. You will be making calls, sending DMs, and attending events to fill nominee slots.

• Excellent communication skills and genuine passion for African content creation.

• Highly results-driven — your performance is measured by the number and quality of nominees successfully onboarded. There is no pay without results.
