AVSI Rwanda is a non-profit organization registered with the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) as a local NGO since January 2021. It originated from the international branch of the AVSI Foundation, which began its operations in Rwanda in 1994, just after the genocide against the Tutsi. Its mission is to promote human dignity through development cooperation activities.

Job Title : Driver
Duty station : Gatsibo, with the possibility of reassignment depending on organizational requirements
Direct Supervisor : Logistics based in Gatsibo
Contract duration : Fixed-term contract (preceded by a three (3) month probationary period)
1. Context and justification of the position:
To ensure the safe transport of the organization's personnel and assets, while respecting the rules of conduct and internal procedures.
2. Main responsibilities:
2.1 . Driving and transport:
Transporting personnel and equipment safely according to the organization's needs
2.2. Vehicle maintenance:
Ensure the daily maintenance of vehicles and report any technical anomalies; • Manage vehicle-related documents (insurance, registration, etc.).
2.3 . Road safety:
Respect the highway code and ensure the safety of passengers and transported goods; Check the safety condition of the vehicle before each trip.
2.4 . Route and timetable management:
Organize journeys according to the priorities and needs of the organization;
Respect the schedule and inform management in case of delay or incident.
2.5 . Reporting and follow-up:
Keep a logbook detailing the journeys made and the condition of the vehicle;
Produce regular reports on the condition of vehicles and any incidents.
2.6 . Skills and abilities
Good knowledge of the highway code;
High sense of responsibility and integrity;
Good presentation and sense of service;
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to flexible hours.
3. Profile and required qualifications
Be between 26 and 40 years old
Have at least a secondary education level (humanities);
Hold a valid driver's license;
Candidates must provide a certificate of good conduct (criminal record extract); this document must be submitted by the successful candidate two weeks after official notification.
Have at least 2 years of professional experience as a driver;
Being able to use digital navigation tools (Google Maps, GPS, etc.).

Proficiency in Kinyarwanda, and comprehension of spoken and written English or French.
