Job Description

Drive modernization and optimization of financial accounting processes, ensure compliance with IAS/IFRS, deliver accurate financial reporting, and lead transformation initiatives across the finance function.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Transformation Leadership
• Lead automation of accounting tasks, digitalization of workflows, and ERP/data analytics integration.
• Champion change management, including training and stakeholder engagement.
• Standardize accounting practices across units and geographies.
• Collaborate with IT and vendors for system upgrades and automation.

Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare financial statements per IAS/IFRS and GAAP.
• Ensure proper GL account classification and reconciliation.
• Implement controls for accurate revenue capture (passenger, cargo, ancillary services).

Operational Excellence
• Manage month-end closing processes and timelines.
• Maintain and update chart of accounts and GL codes.
• Track project costs and fixed asset accounts.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance and transformation.

Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with departments for accurate data capture and reporting.
• Support teams in GL classifications.
• Prepare periodic reports for senior management.
• Facilitate workshops and training for finance team transformation.

Controls & Audit
• Reduce manual processes, improve cash visibility, and enhance risk management.
• Ensure internal control compliance and support audits.
• Investigate system variances and reconcile with fixed asset modules.
• Identify accounting gaps and report findings.

Education & Experience:
• Professional qualification in Accounting or Finance (CPA, ACCA, CA).
• Extensive financial accounting experience, preferably in airline/transportation sector.
• Strong knowledge of IAS/IFRS and GAAP.
• Proven record in transformation/process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
• Experience implementing automation, data analytics, and digital transformation.

Good to Have:
• Experience with asset management and project accounting.
• Familiarity with airline-specific accounting systems (TRAX, ITAT).
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive change in complex environments.
