About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary academic leader to serve as the Vice Chancellor. The role requires strong leadership in academic excellence, institutional growth, international collaborations, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of academic credibility, administrative experience, and strategic vision to elevate the university’s global standing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
• Provide overall leadership and direction for the university
• Develop and execute long-term strategic plans aligned with national education goals
• Drive institutional growth, innovation, and global competitiveness
2. Academic Excellence
• Ensure high standards in teaching, research, and curriculum development
• Promote interdisciplinary programs and industry-relevant education
• Strengthen accreditation, quality assurance, and academic governance
3. Institutional Development
• Build partnerships with international universities, industries, and government bodies
• Enhance student enrollment, retention, and outcomes
• Lead digital transformation and adoption of modern educational technologies
4. Administration & Operations
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Ensure effective governance, compliance, and policy implementation
• Lead senior leadership team including Deans, Registrars, and Directors
5. Stakeholder Engagement
• Represent the university at national and international forums
• Build relationships with regulatory authorities, donors, and partners
• Promote the university’s brand and reputation globally
Key Requirements
Academic Qualifications
• Ph.D. from a recognized university
• Strong academic background with publications and research contributions
Experience
• Minimum 15–20 years of experience in higher education
• At least 5–10 years in a senior leadership role (VC / Pro VC / Dean / Director)
• Experience in international education systems is highly preferred
Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
• Proven experience in institutional growth and transformation
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Exposure to accreditation frameworks and global education standards
Preferred Profile
• Experience working in Africa, Middle East, or emerging markets
• Strong network in academia and industry
• Ability to drive innovation, research funding, and global collaborations
